Best Chocolate Cake ever!

Ok Bobbilee...this is the recipe I keep telling you about!  It is hands down the best chocolate cake I have EVER had. The recipe is from the Pioneer Woman. Find a reason to celebrate!

It is so worth it!

So much has changed...

When I think about these last 10 months, I can't help but think about how much has changed...especially for the kids.

Living in a house...to living in an apartment

Having a yard...to having a terrace

Speaking English only...to having to speak English and German

Living very close to family...to having no family around

Having 2 cars...to for 8 months get around without one

Having your own room...to sharing

Being well loved...to not being known at all

A year ago Luke was playing baseball and now only soccer. So, even the sports they are playing now are different.  He loves it and is actually getting quite good at it.  I am certainly not saying that all of these changes are bad...many of them are good, but certainly  all of these changes have been difficult at times. These many changes are however, taking us out of our comfort zones, teaching us many new and exciting things and has increased all of our need to depend on a Savior that NEVER changes!

Early Mother's Day Treat...

This morning I got an early Mother's Day treat at Luke's school. They had all of the moms come to school and they performed a little program for us. The children sang a few songs in German, a few in English and then they read special poems that they each had written. Here is Luke reading his...

Let's review what we have learned thus far:

Schwarz=black

Gelb=yellow

Rot=red

Grun=green

and this week the color is Weiss=White

With Spring in full bloom around here, I couldn't help but shoot some of the gorgeous flowers that are everywhere you look!  Wish you all could be here to see them in person!

Friday Favorites

So, I have decided to take a little break from Project Green and start...Friday Favorites. I am going to try on Fridays to post about a favorite place, product or person that our family enjoys in Vienna... and I am going to start with Zanoni and Zanoni, as it is one of our VERY favorite places! It is a great ice cream shop right in the first district, near Stephansdom.

Project Green-Take 3

There are so many cool things about living in city with rich history and beautiful architecture!
This is our apartment in Vienna...and it comes complete with a tower! A GREEN tower nonetheless. Yes, we live on the top floor and get to see this tower everyday. Pretty cool huh?

Project Green-Take 2

This little project green has made me take the time to look through some of my old photos...

I have found lots of flowers and blooming trees, a few doors and some benches that are green...but the ones that caught my eye, were the ones of the children playing...simply having fun!

Unwinding...

Since my mom and the Cates family left the first week of April, I think we have had at least 6 people come through to visit. These were just quick stays, most of which did not even spend the night...but still we have been very busy enjoying the company of other folks.

So, last night...I puttered on the computer...purely unwinding.  It was so nice. I caught up on all of my favorite sites..and even planned what I would have for dinner tonight..see HERE...and HERE and HERE.

I am the one who "shall remain nameless", and said that the Cates family sort of screamed American while they were visiting us...

It really was not them so much, as it was the white sneakers...;)

Gelb...
