Our weekend...trying to recouperate

We started our weekend trying to recover from a busy week, by watching movies, snuggling on the couch and making Tante Shar's famous chocolate chip cookies. (we always seem to find ways to comfort ourselves with food!) Even though Memoo just brought us some chocolate chips, Levi insisted we needed to chop some chocolate...which is what we usually do. I was too tired to argue, and adding more chocolate only makes things better right?

Saturday evening turned out to be a uniquely Austrian experience, as we headed 40 minutes to a wine cellar outside the city for our friend Herbert's 40th birthday party. We ate until we could eat no more. Apparently, "over the hill" jokes are not unique to America, so there was plenty of translatable laughter. It was an amazing privilege to be brought into his circle of friends and family.

This morning we worshiped at CIG, then returned home to take naps, ate more cookies and the boys played a quick round of monopoly. A truly restful Sabbath.
So tomorrow we start another week. Brad and I both begin a new round of German classes. This picture of Levi is sort of how we all are feeling about saying goodbye to a restful weekend...

The party in the cellar looks so interesting! I hope you both have a good start with classes and a wonderful week for your entire family.

I'll be praying for your week...and a big THANK YOU for all your goodies, it is like Christmas around here. We've all had too much candy, the boys have LOVED playing Austrian Memory this afternoon, my table cloth looks lovely I must say on my table (the colors are PERFECT!!) And as I type, Bennett is working on falling asleep in his crib, thumb in mouth, new white polar bear under arm.
WE LOVE YOU!!

Chocolate chip cookies with Milka bars....YUM!

I tried speaking German while drinking a beer once - worked quite well actually! Maybe you can combine your winecellar experience with your German class ;-) NOT!
