Today was May Day. We don't know exactly what the significance of that is here in Austria, but it meant that the kids had no school and that there were celebrations throughout the city. We ended up going to the Prater with a family from Luke and Abby's school. We had a great time playing in many of the parks that line the huge bike path, listened to a reggae band and a country band (complete with tons of Austrian country line dancers), ate delicious spare ribs, Cuban empanadas, and goodies from America...like Doritos, Twizzlers and Rice Krispie Treats (Doug, the Dad, works at the US embassy's commissary!)
The kids also enjoyed the biggest blow up slide we have ever seen! We would never see this in America...and if you did, the kids would need to wear helmets and sign a waiver saying that the slide operators were NOT liable for ANY injuries! Here, any number of kids could go at the same time, going any direction they wanted! Our kids loved it...but Brad and I were a little scared watching!
Levi really doesn't know what he has gotten himself into
The panic has started to set in!
He really thinks he might die here!
He finally can breath again...realizing he has survived! (you MUST enlarge this!)
Here is Abby perfecting the bounce!
Here she caught some air!
WOOHOO!
Here is Luke being more cautious, before he perfected the "roll on your side" method!
All in all, it was a great day enjoying the weather, food, friends and fun of Austria!

Those pix are priceless! The "expected" expressions on one and then the other. Oh, my, they are SO funny!
you mean the big slide wasn't for adults? :) Imagine the photos then...
Glad to hear that you enjoyed a day off in the Prater...and the American goodies sure sound good!
Levi's face is priceless. When parker was tiny he would climb up on those things (the "normal" sized ones)and fly down, I was petrified that he would go down wrong and break his neck! LA
Hilarious! I can't believe you got all those of Abby - she's a maniac! Love you and wish you could have been with us last night especially...
