Fall is here...

Fall is definitely here. I know many of you in the states are experiencing unseasonably warm weather, so I am sorry that we are in sweatshirts and you are sweating. We were in Florida for over 10 years, so I feel your pain. Now however, our kids are throughly enjoying the changing seasons here! This weekend they rolled in the leaves...

yesterday we went to the park and collected leaves for a few projects, decorated the house with our fall decorations and even made muffins. Here is where I need a little help from my friends...we would like to have a fall party for some of our friends and my creative juices are depleted. I did get a few ideas here, but would love any helpful hints, craft ideas, web sites that you like or fall recipes. (Please keep in mind that we don't have a JoAnn's Fabrics or Target, where I can get all of the Halloween goodies my heart desires.)

Below are a few signs of fall around our house...

Now as much as I would like to keep adding to this post, I need to go mop all of the leftover glitter from last night that is making my wood floors extra sparkly this morning.

I saw in my WonderTime magazine an idea you might be able to use. They used flowers like daisies or mums to make prints by dipping the flower in paint and pressing it onto paper. They made cards and a table runner with this. (Not that the kids would want to make a table runner...) Looking forward to talking to you today! love, kim

If you want inexpensive Halloween goodies, you should check out Kik. No candy, but you can find goody bag type of things for the kids and some decor items as well.

Brad,

That's a low blow. I hope you choke on one of those falling leaves.

Brad & Stacey,
So great to see how you're settling in there! Thanks for the comment on my blog, too. :) It's nice to know a few people read it...

I'll have to brainstorm fall ideas and let you know -- great idea to have an autumn party!

Love,
Heather

Oh, what a change from South Florida. I know that the kids are enjoying their first "real" Fall...meanwhile we are still swimming and sweating!

I'll see what I can think of. Do you have access to stray or haw? You could make a scare crow by stuffing some of Brad's clothes and putting Mr. Scarecrow in a chair...make his head out of a brown paper bag...I don't know what your apt. is like, but you could put him in the hallway by your front door! I'll keep thinking of other things. Love you! AMy

Stace,
I'm sure you have plenty of ideas and suggestions by now, but you can click on CountryHome.com for some more. Go to HomepageCountryHomeMag and then to Projects photo; down to More projets for Pumpkins. Maybe there's an easier way, but that's as far as my "webability' goes. ☺☺

Wow, I really never had leaves to make something fall-ish with, but I did throw some on my Thanksgiving table last year... uh, sorry, that's the extent of my decorating ideas. :)
